PALO ALTO (KRON)—Police are searching for two men who robbed and pepper sprayed a woman Monday night in downtown Palo Alto.
The robbery happened around 7 p.m. on in an alley near University Ave. between Waverly and Florence streets.
Officers went to the area as soon as the crime was reported, but did not find a suspect.
Police found a woman in her 40s was walking when she noticed two suspects walking towards her.
One of the suspects pepper sprayed her in the face causing her vision to become temporarily blurry.
One suspect pulled her necklace from her neck and took her spiral hoop earrings from her ears.
Both suspects then ran away.
The woman stayed in the alley for a few minutes until she was able to regain sight.
She then walked into a store and called 911.
The woman complained of pain in her face, eyes and neck, but was not physically injured.
Police describe the two suspects as Hispanic men in their early 20s.
Both have thin builds and are between 5 feet 6 inches tall and 5 feet 8 inches tall.
The two suspects were both wearing black pants and black-hooded sweatshirts with the hoods on over their heads.
One suspects was wearing a black baseball hat.
