CONCORD (KRON) — Concord police have identified the suspect in a case where a man was seen on video slapping a young employee at a family fun center.
The man in the surveillance video, which KRON4 first brought you last week, shows the man who is being charged.
The surveillance video from The Jungle, a family fun center in Concord, shows a man slapping a 17-year-old employee.
Now, police say Torin Jackson is the man who attacked Deshawn Wright, slapping him across the face on Oct. 22, a Saturday afternoon.
Jackson is being charged with two misdemeanors–battery and cruelty to a child.
Wright says the suspect slapped him because he didn’t like his attitude. Authorities say Jackson has agreed to turn himself in.
KRON4 has been investigating this story since the beginning and is talking with the alleged victim and his mother on Wednesday night.
The mother is beside herself, saying these should be felony charges and saying race is playing a role.
