Survey: SFO ranks No. 8 on list of top 10 North American airports

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — A new survey is out rating the best and worst airports in North America–and all the voting was done by travelers.

San Francisco International Airport ranked No. 8 on the list of best airports in North America.

The survey asks travelers to consider things like comfort, food options, and cleanliness.

It was done by the popular travel site Sleeping in Airports.

People mentioned things like the fact SFO was one of the first to introduce amenities like a yoga studio.

They also liked the reading room and museum.

One voter said, “It’s very busy but spacious and relatively clean.”

Another California airport gets a mention, but on the “worst” list. Los Angeles International Airport is No. 5 on the list of airports people hate.

It has had some recent upgrades, but one person said it’s like “putting lipstick on a pig.”

The worst list includes complaints about cleanliness and not enough good seating.

The No. 1 airport on the worst list is LaGuardia.

And the best of the best is Vancouver’s airport.
