Fairfield man arrested for allegedly following woman home

FAIRFIELD (KRON)—A man from Fairfield was arrested Saturday night after a woman claimed he followed her home, according to police.

The woman reported the incident to police around 8:15 p.m. that a man was in her driveway as she was watching her come home.

The man was still following her even when she was driving away from her house, according to police. The woman went back home, went inside and called 911.

Officers arrived at the home on Del Prado Circle and Pennsylvania Avenue and arrested the suspect identified as Anthony Valencia, 55, after a brief struggle.

Valencia was on probation in Yolo County, according to police.

Officers found Valencia had a concealed machete, suspected methamphetamine and a meth pipe, police said.

Valencia was booked in the county jail on suspicion of stalking, possessing a dangerous weapon, possessing a dangerous weapon to commit an assault, possession of a controlled substance, possession of paraphernalia and violating probation, according to police.

“This is a great example and reminder to our community to always be alert and aware of your surroundings,” Fairfield police Lt. Jausiah Jacobsen said in a statement.

“This resident’s awareness more than likely saved her from becoming a victim,” Jacobsen said.
