COLUMBUS, OH (KRON)—It wasn’t your typical advertisement carried by a plane flying high above a football game.
This one paid for by an Ohio man desperate to save his own life.
Thom Kent is about one of about 100,000 people waiting for a kidney in the United States.
He’s on a waiting list, after unsuccessfully finding a match within his family.
That’s when he realized he’d have to reach out to more people, so he hired an airplane to fly over the massive tailgating crowd before the Nebraska game.
Thom said he received three calls from the sign.
No word yet if any of them have been a match.
