SAN FRANCISCO (KRON)—Prosecutors in San Francisco refused to file charges against a former University of California San Francisco surgeon who was arrested on drug charges last week.

Christopher Owens, 49, was booked into the San Francisco County jail on suspicion of multiple felony drug transportation and sales charges when he was arrested by UC police on Thursday.

Owens was still in custody Monday afternoon with his bail set to $1.98 million, according to jail records

A spokesman for the District Attorney’s Office said the case is still under investigation, but prosecutors refuse to file charges right now.
