WATSONVILLE (KRON) — A 14-year-old boy was arrested Monday night for allegedly possessing of a loaded and concealed gun in Watsonville.
The boy was riding in a car stopped by an officer for a traffic violation at Freedom Boulevard and Main Street at 11:40 p.m., according to police.
As the officer approached the car, he reportedly noticed a strong marijuana smell, and removed all five passengers.
He then found the revolver in the boy’s pocket.
The boy was also found to be on probation, and had a felony warrant out for his arrest.
He was arrested on suspicion of possession of a loaded, concealed firearm, possession of an unregistered firearm, possession of a firearm with the serial number obliterated, possession of a firearm by a minor, possession of live ammunition by a minor, possession of a firearm by a gang member, participation in a criminal street gang, a probation violation and an outstanding felony warrant.
Another passenger, 18-year-old Angel Meza, was cited for a probation violation and released.
The car’s other three occupants were released at the scene.
