ROHNERT PARK (KRON)—Sonoma County sheriff’s detectives are asking for the public’s help in finding a Bose Soundlink III speaker belonging to a Cotati teenager whose body was found at Sonoma State University last week.
Kirk Kimberly, 18, was believed to be carrying the speaker in his backpack before he was found dead, according to detectives.
Kimberly was reported missing Oct. 17 and his body was found with multiple stab wounds on Nov. 2.
A landscaper found Kimberly’s body in a secluded area of the campus.
Anyone who has found a Bose Soundlink III is asked to contact Sheriff’s Detective Horsman at (707) 565-2185.
Detectives are also looking for Kimberly’s mountain bike which he was last seen riding from his Cotati home.
The bike is a white 2011 Cannondale Quick CX 3 with new tires that have reflective material on the sidewalls.
Detectives said they think the killing was an isolated incident and not a random act of violence.
