Teen shot in Watsonville while taking out trash

WATSONVILLE (KRON) – A 19-year old man walked into a Watsonville hospital on Wednesday evening after he was shot while taking out the trash, police said.

Police responded to reports of gunfire at Lincoln Street and Maple Avenue around 7:45 p.m.

The victim was putting out the garbage cans for pick-up when someone fired several shots at him and ran away.

The bullet wound is not believed to be life-threatening.

Police say the incident is being investigated as a gang-related attempted homicide.

No arrests have been made, and police have not released any information regarding possible suspects.
