OAKLAND (KRON) — Vandals trashed local businesses in downtown Oakland Thursday night during the third night of protests against the election of Donald Trump as President.
At least seven buildings have reported vandalism including broken glass and graffiti. Trash cans were also set on fire.
Local businesses are now trying to regroup Friday morning after they found the damage. Cleanup crews and glass companies are already out on the job.
Ted Jacobs Engineering group in Oakland was hit. One of the engineers says it is sad to see protesters take out their frustration on local businesses.
Hundreds of protesters took to the streets Thursday night. 11 people were arrested and 7 were cited. Arrests and citations were for crimes ranging from assault on officers, vandalism, failure to disperse, and public intoxication.
