One dead after car crashes into building in San Jose

SAN JOSE (KRON) — Police are investigating a traffic collision that killed one person, and injured another in San Jose, Friday morning, according to police.

Officers were dispatched around 11:46 a.m. to the Alliance Credit Union located at 265 Curtner Avenue on a report of a vehicle into a building.

After an investigation, officers discovered that two vehicles were involved and one person was discovered dead in the building. Police said the other victim was transported to a local hospital with unknown injuries.

According to police, both drivers are cooperating with the investigation.


Police said westbound lanes on Curtner Avenue between Little Orchard Street and Communications Hill Boulevard are closed. All drivers are advised to avoid the area for several hours until the investigation is complete.

The identity of the victim will not be released until the Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office has confirmed the identity of the victim, and until their family has been notified.
