SAN FRANCISCO (KRON)—-They came out in scores to support those who have served in our Armed Forces.

Sunday was the 96th annual Veteran’s Day parade in San Francisco.

“We’ve been doing this for years,” one man said. “We have family members in the military and what not and it’s always good to put on a good showing.”

The group of veterans marching bands and floats marched down the Embarcadero toward Jefferson street.

Organizers moved to the event from Market Street to Fisherman’s Wharf with hopes to boost attendance which had dwindling.

It was an effort to loop in tourists who would already be in the area.

“It’s important for us to be out here at least we can show some support to our veterans and give some respect to them,” one tourist said.

But for those attendees who are veterans.

Well, they say they come every year citing importance of being here to support one another.

“We have a common bond and we should be there not just for times of service, but after we’re home we should still continue to support our communities and fellow veterans,” one female veteran said.

It’s all a celebration of our nation’s heroes in the streets of San Francisco.
