MONTEREY COUNTY (BCN)—A 42-year-old was convicted today of more than a dozen counts related to child molestation on three girls who were all cousins, according to the Monterey County District Attorney’s Office.
Manuel Jesus Jimenez, of Marina, molested three girls, ages 11, 16 and 17, who testified at his trial, according to prosecutors.
A jury found Jimenez guilty of two counts of sexual penetration on a child under 10 years old or younger, two counts of forcible lewd acts on a child under 14 years old, seven counts of lewd acts on a child under 14 year old and three counts of lewd acts on a child who was either 14 or 15 years old, prosecutors said.
One of the victims was 9 years old at the time when she saw Jimenez molest her then-15-year-old cousin on May 11, 2015, according to prosecutors.
Both girls realized they weren’t the only victims and told their mothers that Jimenez had been molesting them for months, according to prosecutors.
The third victim, a cousin of the two girls, came forward and reported to investigators that Jimenez inappropriately touched her on least one previous occasion, prosecutors said.
Jimenez faces 140 years to life in prison and will have to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life, according to prosecutors.
