HOUSTON, TX (KRON) — A Texas woman has been charged with child endangerment for allegedly keeping dangerous animals in the same home as her 14-year-old daughter.
Police say 34-year-old Trisha Meyer was housing exotic, wild animals inside her Cypresswood Drive home.
“Having wildlife inside your home or even in your yard…is dangerous,” said Ashtyn Rivet, a spokesperson for BARC Animal Shelter and Adoptions.
Court documents say that Meyer had three tiger cubs, a full grown adult tiger, a skunk, a fox, and several monkeys all inside the home.
Her animals have been confiscated and placed with animal control.
Meyer is now facing charges for allowing her collection of wild animals to roam freely inside her home that her daughter lives in.
“Wildlife can post a threat to anyone inside the house, especially if it isn’t restrained,” Rivet said.
