ARIZONA (KRON) — A police officer in Arizona is being investigated for allegedly punching a woman in the face during an arrest, according to Flagstaff police. A video has surfaced, showing the assault.
Officer Jeff Bonar has been placed on leave pending the investigation, Flagstaff police said.
The incident happened yesterday as police arrested the woman. She was reportedly being uncooperative, and struggled with the two officers. Then one of them punched her in the mouth, and eventually put her in a squad car.
The reason for the arrest is unknown, but she did have a warrant out for her arrest, according to a man who says the woman is his girlfriend.
Flagstaff police say their agency is very concerned about the content in this video.
