LOS ALTOS (KRON)—-A woman from Los Altos has been selected as one of the 32 students to study at Oxford University in October as part of the Rhodes Scholar Class of 2017, according to University of Notre Dame officials.
Alexis Doyle is a senior at University of Notre Dame. Doyle is majoring in biological sciences and minoring in international peace studies.
She is studying at Oxford for two to three years with the help of the scholarship.
Sometimes the scholarship can pay for a fourth year, University of Notre Dame officials said.
“I am deeply grateful for everyone who has supported my learning and personal growth over the past four years at Notre Dame,” Doyle said in a statement.
After she studies at Oxford, Doyle will study at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City.
Doyle said getting the scholarship is a “huge honor.”
