Death of transient found unresponsive in Pittsburg park investigated as homicide

PITTSBURG (KRON) — Pittsburg police are investigating the death of a man, who was found in a park last week, as a homicide, Capt. Rathnesh Raman said on Monday.

Police said 41-year-old Anthony Loera was found unconscious on a bench in Buchanan Park, located at 4150 Harbor St., just after 7 a.m. on Wednesday.

Loera is a known transient, according to Capt. Rathnesh Raman, and the reporting party had seen him in the park Tuesday evening.

Based on the results of an autopsy, his death has been determined to be a homicide.
