LOS ANGELES (KRON) — Rapper and singer Kanye West has been hospitalized at UCLA Medical Center Monday afternoon.
Los Angeles police officers responded to a disturbance call around 1:20 p.m. West was at his trainer Harley Pasternak’s home at the time, sources say.
The incident turned into a medical emergency.
Police called the fire department. Paramedics were also called to the scene, but West was calmer.
He reportedly refused to go to the hospital. Authorities and West’s management convinced him to go.
West was handcuffed to a gurney while he was being taken to UCLA Medical Center.
He is being hospitalized for sleep deprivation, according to TMZ.
This comes a day after West canceled his Saint Pablo Tour.
The shows had been scheduled through New Year’s Eve.
The singer was in San Jose on Thursday and went on a political rant during his show.
“I told ya’ll I didn’t vote, right? But I didn’t tell you…If I would have voted, I would have voted for Trump,” he said.
