HAYWARD (KRON) — Nine males, including a Bay area lawyer, were arrested for soliciting prostitution after an undercover operation took place in Hayward.
On Thursday October 13th 2016, the Alameda County Vice Enforcement Team (ACVET) conducted a Commercially Sexually Exploited Children (CSEC) prostitution “out-call” and “in-call” operation at a motel in north Hayward.
The focus of the undercover operation was to recover commercially sexually exploited children, arrests of adult prostitutes, and the arrest of male customers of prostitution commonly referred to as, “Johns.” The operation additionally focused on identifying and arresting suspected pimps/exploiters and persons who transport or aid in prostitution activity.
This ten-hour operation yielded a total of nine male sex buyer arrests. Eight of the males were charged with prostitution-related offenses: Salvador Avila – Transient, Yasir Khairi of San Jose, Luis Jose Lopes of San Mateo, Mario Alberto Moreno of Hayward, Jose Pimental of Hayward, Kevin Douglas Taguchi of Hayward, Luis Torres-Serratos – Transient, and Yonus Ahmad of Oakland. Charges against Mr. Ahmad were later dismissed.
ACVET member agencies involved in the operation were from the Alameda County Probation Department, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Hayward Police Department, Piedmont Police Department, and the Department of Homeland Security (HSI).
