(KRON)—Golden Gate Transit’s holiday bus has started collecting toys for children in Petaluma and San Rafael.
The bus will be at San Rafael’s Parade of Lights around 5:30 p.m. Friday and in downtown Petaluma 11 a.m. Saturday when Mr. and Mrs. Claus are there.
The bus is decorated with snowflakes, ribbons, stars and a Golden Gate Bridge snowglobe. It will be collecting toys for the less fortunate through Dec. 17 near Golden Gate Transit’s San Francisco, Marin and Sonoma counties service lines.
Marine Toys for Tots Foundation is teaming up with Golden Gate Transit for this year’s “Stuff the Bus.” The event collects new, unwrapped and donated toys.
The donations cannot be made while the bus is in service because there is not enough room to store the toys.
The bus will be at seven Bay Area locations after Thanksgiving weekend including San Francisco, San Jose, Sausalito, Larkspur, Santa Rosa, Novato and San Rafael.
