SAN JOSE (KRON) — A woman was struck and killed by a taxi cab in San Jose early Tuesday morning, according to police.
The crash happened at around 2:59 a.m. in the area of Monterey Road and Capitol Expressway, police said.
The woman killed has been identified as 37-year-old Jennifer Talavera.
The taxi driver was heading southbound on Monterey when he struck the pedestrian in the roadway.
The victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene, has been identified as 37-year-old Jennifer Talavera, according to the Santa Clara County medical examiner’s office.
The collision caused the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority to reroute five bus lines until about 8:15 a.m., VTA officials said.
