Dump truck accident causes major delays on Dumbarton Bridge

FREMONT (KRON) — A major accident involving a dump truck was causing major traffic delays on the Dumbarton Bridge, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The accident happened at around 6:26 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of State Route 84, CHP officials said.

All lanes of the Dumbarton Bridge have since reopened.

An estimated 5 gallons of fuel spilled into the Bay as a result of the crash, CHP Officer James Evans said. State wildlife officials were called to the scene.

No one was injured in the crash. Eastbound traffic was blocked until just before 11 a.m., when the CHP announced that all lanes had reopened.
