PETALUMA (KRON)—A woman was hit by a bus while she was crossing the street in Petaluma Thursday morning, according to police.
The 46-year-old woman was crossing North McDowell Boulevard near East Madison Street at 10:45 a.m. near the Plaza North Shopping Center.
She was in the crosswalk when she was hit by a Petaluma Transit bus making a left turn onto North McDowell Boulevard.
The woman was dragged about 29 feet before the bus stopped.
She was found trapped under the bus and officers had to lift it to get her out. The woman was taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital with injuries to her left arm and head.
Her injuries are non-life threatening.
The bus driver, a 77-year-old woman, said she saw the woman out of the corner of her eye when she was making the turn, but she wasn’t able to stop in time.
Police are still investigating the case.
