SAN JOSE (KRON) — San Jose University police have arrested a suspect in multiple sexual battery cases at San Jose University, the college said on Thursday night.

Huaien Kong has been identified as the suspect.

The suspect is a San Jose State student and may have committed additional unreported sexual batteries, SJSU President Mary Papazian said.

Police believe one suspect may be associated with at least two cases.

“Leads provided over the past few days are being pursued and police foot patrols have been intensified around campus,” Papazian said.

Police said they are uncertain if other suspects are affiliated with SJSU.sjsu-2

It is unclear how many of the recent sexual batteries the arrested suspect is allegedly responsible for.

Three sexual battery incidents have been reported within a week at San Jose State University, according to campus police.

The most recent case happened on Wednesday at around 1:10 p.m. A man sexually assaulted a woman on the second-floor landing of the northeast stairwell of Duncan Hall, according to an SJSU alert. He then ran away up the stairs. The suspect is a man in his 20s with black ‘spiky’ hair. He was wearing a dark gray hooded sweatshirt, dark pants and had a navy blue backpack, according to police.

The second incident happened shortly before 4:30 p.m. Monday. The suspect followed a woman as she went from the Ninth Street Plaza to the student union, police said. The victim confronted the suspect, who fled on a white skateboard with red stripes at the Seventh Street Plaza heading north toward San Fernando Street, police said.

The suspect in Monday’s case is an Asian man in his 20s. He was wearing a neon-green hooded sweatshirt, black and blue jacket and black backpack, according to police. Investigators have released two photos of him seen walking through a door at the student union.

The first incident happened on Nov. 30 around 2:30 p.m. A man sexually battered a female victim at Sweeney Hall between the second and third floors before he fled upstairs, police said.

The suspect in the first case is a man in his 20s with a mustache seen wearing dark clothing and a black backpack, according to police.

A press conference on the case is scheduled for 8 a.m. Friday.
