Wet weather hits Bay Area

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — Roads are completely soaked Thursday as a storm hits the Bay Area.

Drivers should expect rainfall throughout the Friday morning commute. Make sure to leave early, reduce your speed, and turn on your wipers and headlights.

The unsettled, wet weather is expected to continue through Saturday. Periods of rain can be expected at times, especially this morning and again late Thursday night into Friday.

FORECAST: San Francisco Bay Area Weather

The rain is coupled with some chilly temperatures. Highs will be in the upper 50s. South winds will reach 10 to 20 mph.

Through Saturday, 2″ to 5″ will be possible along the coastal ranges with about 1″ to 1 3/4″ for San Francisco Bay Area and points northward. Meanwhile, storm total amounts will likely range from 1/4″ to 1″ for inland valleys and around the Monterey Peninsula.

Periods of dry weather will be possible this weekend with rain returning to northern California early next week.
