SANTA CLARA (KRON) — Before Sunday’s San Francisco 49ers game, a plane circled over Levi’s Stadium with a banner that read, ‘Fire Trent Baalke.’
It’s a demand that may signal what’s to come in the offseason, as a change in the front office could be in the works.
Citing multiple league sources, CBS Sports reported this weekend that the general manager Baalke will not be retained at the end of the year.
And that would just be the start of a management shakeup, as it’s believed team CEO Jed York may be forced to step aside from any personnel operations, while his parents Denise and John take a “more hands-on approach’ with the team.
If they decide to hire a new GM, that person would help decide Chip Kelly’s fate.
Until then, Kelly is still optimistic about his team’s performance, despite its 12-game losing streak.
