SACRAMENTO (KRON)—The Tower Bridge in Sacramento is shut down Tuesday afternoon because a female driver claims she has a bomb inside her car, according to police.
The driver is on the Tower Bridge Gateway near Raley Field. The gas tank is connected to some wires, according to reports.
Witnesses say the woman got out of the car to connect the wires to the gas tank of the car.
The woman seemed to have a sign with her, but it is not clear what the sign said.
She surrendered just after 4:30 p.m. Police are still investigating the case
Residents were asked to shelter in place and the order was lifted around 8:25 p.m.
Police closed the road between 5th Street and Tower Bridge in West Sacramento. Capitol Mall is also shut down in Sacramento from the bridge to 3rd Street.
