VIDEO: Man killed in Santa Clara officer-involved shooting

SANTA CLARA (KRON) — One person was killed in a Santa Clara officer-involved shooting on Thursday

Around 5 p.m., officers received a call requesting for help with the person’s son, according to officers.

Officers arrived at the home on Deborah Drive where they found a man in his mid-20s acting erratically, officials said.

Officers tried to subdue the man with a taser but were unsuccessful, according to police.

One officer then fired his gun on the man, killing him, police said.

No officers were injured.

The shooting happened on Monroe and Scott streets, police said.

The officer, who has been on the force for eight years, will be put on administrative leave.
