RICHMOND (KRON) — A Richmond motorcycle cop was hit by a driver on Interstate 80 Tuesday morning, according to California Highway Patrol.
Around 7:55 a.m., a Mercedes sedan sideswiped the officer on westbound I-80, just west of Solano Ave.
The officer was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, such as scrapes and bruises.
Traffic was initially backed up to San Pablo with two lanes were blocked.
At one point, CHP issued a traffic alert for the area.
As of 9:00 a.m., all lanes were reopened.
Drivers should still expect residual delays.
No information about the driver in the incident was reported.
