SAN JOSE (KRON) — Thanksgiving has arrived early in the San Jose where a special meal was laid out on Tuesday afternoon for those who don’t often get enough to eat on any given day.
The community pulled together to cook up a turkey dinner for the homeless.
There are said to be as many as 4,000 homeless people on the streets of San Jose on any given day, most of them are no doubt hungry.
But about 200 of them will return to their camps on Tuesday night with a full belly.
At downtown San Jose’s Forager restaurant on Tuesday afternoon, the homeless broke bread with the mayor and other luminaries.
For some, the holiday meal came with a hot shower and care packages containing blankets and other cold weather gear.
