Dublin police: 2 serial car thieves arrested

DUBLIN (KRON) — Dublin police say they’ve arrested a pair accused of being serial car thieves.

Dublin investigators say an alert neighbor called the police on Saturday at around 9:15 p.m. after spotting Miguel Rios, 24, and Julio Reyes, 23, casing cars.

When police arrived at Castilian Road and Juarez Lane, they say the suspects were getting into a stolen car from Concord.

Investigators say they then ran from officers but were both caught.

Police found both suspects had stolen property and say the suspects are responsible for at least 10 car burglaries in Dublin on Saturday.

Rios and Reyes are residents of Bay Point and are on felony probation for burglary in Contra Costa County.

The two were booked into the Santa Rita Jail for numerous felony charges.
